Roland's response to budget question:  "We need to stimulate our economy, tax where we can.  We need to index our gas tax so that we can have some more funding for highways.  I think that's something that you're going to see in the future.  We haven't had a gas tax increase in well over 20 years and it's one of the problems that's happening in our transportation budget.

Roland's response to education question: "Throwing money at children does make them smarter, believe it or not.  It's not about the family values or stuff at home.  We [the state] need to spend more money."
